Torchwood Children of Earth DVD-Series 3 - A Tone of Darkness

If you thought Torchwood one and two were loads of good viewing then this new release will be pleasing to your eyes. To label Torchwood Series 3 DVD as better is possibly an understatement. It is considerably different in quite a few ways. These touches make it more viewable and more likable to many fans.

First there are only 5 episodes instead of 12 as in the other series. This is due to the way the BBC ran it, on every night for a week instead of one day a week for a few months. This mega series event format really worked for this particular show plus in other incarnations of Torchwood, there was a mix of politics, sci-fi, thriller and suspense. It was good and suspenseful, but with a twist of humor that put it on the lighter less intense side.

The way Torchwood Children of Earth on DVD turns and squirms with the psychological depth that it has will grip you. There is a darkness and a fascination in agony within this, going deeper than the ones before. The five days in the life of the gang exposed here will keep you stuck to the screen waiting for the next shock. Its kind of like the "24" series in that day to day sort of telling. These different aspects make it a favorite by far.

When considering the Torchwood series in its entirety number 3 comes out on top. Although it did get it's beginning on Dr. Who, it has grown into its own complete being. It probably has come too far to be even considered a spin off because it has come into its own. With its own fan base separate from the Dr. Who bunch.

Compared to other Science Fiction out this year, this is a winner. It far surpasses both the first and second. The way it has become deeper and darker is an additional attraction. Anyone into it will be left thinking about what could possibly happen to these guys in the next release.
